ARTIST NOTES: This beachscape, ‘Seaside Me Time’, reflects a contemplative walk along the beach. At a glance you get the impression of a gorgeous sunny, summer’s day; but, in the distance, on the horizon, the waters are dark and heavy. It is not plain sailing out there. On the shoreline gentle waves lap at your feet and you see the sand just ahead of you, but the journey and the destination are unclear, hidden from view.
‘Seaside Me Time’ captures that moment when your outer peace is disturbed by an inner disquiet that demands solitude and contemplation. The sun is shining and the ocean breeze takes the sting out of the heat as your feet hit the sand. But for the unrest in your soul, it is a beautiful day. The beach is full of people swimming, splashing, sunning themselves, and playing; but you are alone, searching. How far will you walk? How long will you take?
